General ophthalmic examinations: Full examination of the eye and periocular tissues; diagnostic modalities include:
- Gonioscopy.
- Direct and indirect ophthalmoscopy.
- Corneal topography.
- Ocular ultrasound.
- Fluorescein angiography.
- Slitlamp biomicroscope and fundus photography.
- Removal of cloudy human lens and replacement with an artificial lens.
- Medical and surgical treatment of all forms of glaucoma by means of medical treatment (topical medication), lasers (ALT, LPI), and glaucoma surgery (trabeculectomy, seton placement) including endoscopic photocoagulation.
