Assessment
All inpatients at nutritional risk are assessed by the clinical dietitian based on an evaluation of various health factors to determine nutritional status. The clinical dietician obtains information about medical history, food allergy status, selected laboratory results, medications, weight changes, cultural, and personal preferences. Assessment is also done in the Outpatients Clinic where appropriate.
Diet formulation
A variety of different diets are offered, dependent on a patient’s needs. Conditions that require nutritional intervention include:
